The Robin Trower Band
Chronological history of shows and events, reviews,
magazine articles, band members and numerous
links to information.

This amazing list was started by Gregg B. Fields.  Literally hundreds have contributed with little bits of info to help get this as accurate as possible.  I have added some  information I had from, stage passes, articles, some trip agendas and just about everything else that was available.  Added a number of links to show reviews and pictures to complete the picture.
We would like to work on adding to this list  so if you have ANY information about a show, like who else was on the bill, or any corrections you think may be required that we have gotten incorrect please submit it to shail@shaw.ca and the list will be updated.
Added some fans comments who were at the shows also to give you a better idea of the show.

Thanks to all who have sent in show dates..... most people who have remarked about this page seem to always state how reading the dates brought back some fine memories........ Steve

Be sure to click on the links  provided to get the whole history ..............

6/30/85 Harpo's, Detroit MI." large venue w/ really good sound and lights .

Opening act was a Scandinavian band called Trash.
Great show to capacity audience with everyone                                                  singing along to the " spellbound " coda of " Daydream "
with what seemed like 5 minutes of applause at the end of                                             the song. Dave Bronze stood there with a big  smile and said "                                         We didn't think the audience could get any better after Fri.                                                 and Saturdays show ".  The Beyond the Mist stuff sounded                                    really good , esp. the title track.   Fan comment:Stage capacity at that time was 3,500 and the show was sold out. Trower and band played about an hour, and during his headling set, Peter Frampton  remarked that he'd watched part of Trower's show and it was "Fantastic."     Legendary drummer Jerry Shirley (Humble Pie, Fastway) was living in Cleveland and   working as a DJ at the local classic rock station at that time, and he also attended the show.  He later commented several times during his radio show that               "Trower really smoked that night in Cleveland." 2003

2004

"Living Out Of Time"
is released accompanied by a note from Robins manager Derek Sutton painting a very negative picture for any future Robin Trower recordings and touring....
This might be the last Robin Trower CD

Thank you for the support you have given Robin throughout the years, and
we hope this CD will demonstrate just how vital Robin's creative energies are
today. We believe this new music is as musically moving as anything he has
recorded to date, and we want, with your help, to continue the process of
bringing you new music as Robin creates it.

As you know, Robin and I are V-12 records. We formed the company to allow
Robin total artistic freedom in making his music and recording it for you.
Robin has a wonderful group of dedicated fans, but their number is not big enough
for a major record company to profit from him. So we decided to do it ourselves.
We rely entirely on sales of CDs to pay for the whole process. So if we do not get our
money back from selling this CD there will not be another one.

Please do not burn copies for your friends. Please do not post the music on the
internet for strangers to enjoy without compensating Robin or V-12. If sales
continue to decrease there is a real probability that we will not be able to afford
to record any more new music.  Yes, I am serious. Every lost sale brings us closer
to the time that there will not be enough buyers to pay the costs of making a new CD.

I think you all know that I am a fan as much as I am Robin's manager. Please
believe me when I tell you that we are very close to losing access to an artist that I have
respected and loved for three decades.  Touring is already history because of economics,

please don't make it impossible for us to record.

You can help this cause but understanding that it truely does apply to each one of us
as individuals. Not to some faceless group of hackers, but to each and every one who
"shares" without understanding the consequences.

Be a part of the solution, not part of the problem.

                                                                                                                      Thanks
                                                                                                                 Derek Sutton

April 21, 2004 Interview on Rockline

Nothing happens after the successful release of LOOT for two years. Lots of talk of tours but none materialize.
The story is that it is just too costly for Robin to tour anymore.  It seems that no one realizes the possibilities of this band and what the real draw will be. My opinion on this can be read in a post made in July of 2004
HERE

FEB 2005

A deal is made from a new manager in the UK (Alan Robinson) to get Robin and the whole band out to tour.
Discussions around the quality of the mix on the origional release of Living Out Of Time led to the whole album being remixed by Dave Bronze. More on this
